COrona virus UPDATE

In these unprecedented times we want to let you know what the recent government announcement means for us as church.

We are so thankful that church is not about a building but a community of believers serving and helping one another. In the days and weeks to come we have to change the way we do things, but our love for God, one another and those who don't yet know Jesus remains. Let's be aware and supportive of one another and attentive to the voice of God who leads us every day in every way.

Listening to current government advice, with prayerful consideration and with a desire to protect the vulnerable we have made the following decisions:

  • ALL ACTIVITIES* AND PROGRAMMES ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

  • SUNDAYS: We will be re-gathering in-person and broadcasting a service at 10.30am each Sunday. You will need to book in each week to join us in the building or you can view the livestream via our website, Youtube and Facebook.  This is a gathered moment. We will be meeting in person and online.  Whilst it is streamed we will be able to engage and pray with each other in an online chat space.

  • FoodBank* will be continuing for the time being as an essential service to our community. Whilst we have resource, team and permission we will continue to serve.

  • THE CHAPEL (Pheasey) – will remain open. In these times it is vital we pray. You may find this space helpful and it's open 24-7. If you would like to book a one-hour slot  call us 0121 3509650. Please make sure you wipe down surfaces after you've left. Cleaning wipes and hand-gel will be available there.

We are looking at creative and pastoral ways to stay connected and offer support. We will be setting up some online zoom groups for discipleship and prayer. We will be giving some pastoral drop in opportunities for those in need of care and prayer.

If you are ill or in need please reach out enquiries@elimlifechurch.co.uk or call 0121 3509650. Please keep us informed of any changes.

This is also an unprecedented opportunity to be salt and light to those around us. We are looking at ways we can support and pray for our wider community.

Let's be on the look-out to help and bring hope to those around us.

We believe God is bigger than coronavirus. We are confident that God is a Healer

(listen to Sunday's podcast with Pastor Jon https://www.elimlifechurch.co.uk/podcast).

We want to be wise with best practice in containing and limiting the virus amongst us. Whilst we are aware of concerns around this pandemic, we are not led by a spirit of fear but love, power and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Many of us are finding the words of Psalm 91 a great reassurance and prayer to use.

Please Remember:

  • If you are feeling unwell with a fever and persistent cough you are asked to self- isolate and any others in your household for 14 days. Let us know so we can pray and do what we can to help.

  • Continue to wash your hands with soap and water, singing praise songs or praying the Lord's prayer whilst you do!

  • Be careful to not touch your face. You are advised to cough/sneeze into your arm or elbow. To catch it (with a tissue) and bin it.

As Pastors and Leaders we have not been this way before. We love you. We want to keep pointing you to Jesus. We want to do all we can to protect, reach out and support. Jesus is the Good Shepherd. We trust in Him!

We will give regular updates as the situations develops.

God Bless,

Pastor Sarah W and The Church Leadership Team
