At Elim Life Church prayer is central to all we do and all we are.
Prayer changes lives. Prayer changes history. Prayer changes us.
Prayer is God’s gift to us, initiated and started by God himself which the Holy Spirit helps us to do and is one of the most powerful and privileged things available to us as Christian’s.
It is a way to feel God’s heartbeat and communicate with Him. It is a way to deepen and develop friendship with God. Knowing who God really is makes us want to transform to Jesus Christ’s way of life. God slowly and graciously reveals Himself to us while we pray. Often when you use the word ‘Prayer’ people can get scared, intimidated or apathetic but as a church we encourage people to take time to pause and realise that prayer is not so much about the words you use, but making space for God. We urge people to talk to God, to be aware that He is with them all the time, but also to listen out for Him, to bring needs and problems to God and ask Him to move and act, all for His glory.
“Four things let us ever keep in mind: God hears prayer, God heeds prayer, God answers prayer and God delivers by prayer.” E. M. Bounds
Oswald Chambers said “Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work” and because we firmly believe in the power of God and prayer we seek to find as many ways as possible to encourage and make space for engaging with God in prayer.
