Welcome to Elim Life Church. Everyone is welcome to join us!

At Elim Life Church generosity is something we value; it is one of the things that set the early Christians apart and we follow their example. We love to give generously to local needs and those further afield.

“God loves a Cheerful Giver” and we believe giving is part of our worship to God (Philippians 4:18). Through our giving we have the privilege of sharing in the work that God is doing.

No one is ever pressured into giving, and if you come as a guest or visitor you are under no expectation to give. For those who are part of Elim Life Church, we encourage regular giving as part of living out faith in Christ.

The Bible talks about ‘tithes’ and ‘offerings’: A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD (Leviticus 27:30).  Biblically, the “tithe” is taken from what is made and earned.  Whatever God provided 10% belonged to God; so you can donate any amount but the tithe is the first 10%. God instructed to give because this 10% represented the first or most important portion of all that they had.  The New Testament also has plenty to say about giving, especially in 2 Corinthians 8–9 and in the story of the early Church in Acts 2 and 4. Concern for the glory of God and the needs of others led to deep generosity by these early Christians. If you want to know download the free PDF booklet on Biblical Giving.

We want to be good stewards of all God gives. If you regularly give through the church we encourage you to find out more about Gift Aid.

The Government recognises the significance of regular giving to charities and encourages it by giving back, the income tax paid on the money given if you are still working and paying income tax. If you are paying income tax you should seriously consider Gift Aid. It is just one way of being a thoughtful giver and a good steward of what God has given you. Using Gift Aid means that for every £1.00 you give, we get an extra 25p from the Inland Revenue which greatly increases the amount of your contribution at no extra cost or effort to yourself.
