Since early 2000, the journey started for Andy writing worship songs and leading worship in his local church. Born and raised in Birmingham, he lives with his wife Bex, his son Max ( 7) and daughter Jessica (11).
Music has always been a big part of his life. At primary school, playing the trombone in the school orchestra, to then having organ lessons. Things changed when a school mate brought his drum kit in to school. It was love at first sight!!!! From thinking that a floor tom was an unlucky pupil about to get decked, he quickly mastered the art of drumming which led to him playing in church and then to spend several years in a Christian rock band, gigging and even tracking drums on the bands album.
Despite his love of drumming, Andy had a fascination in layering sounds and with the help of a friends keyboard and the on-board sequencer wrote his first song.
It was 2001 when Andy wrote his first worship song. With the encouragement and backing of his Pastor, Jonathan Skelton, ‘Worthy of all praise’ was introduced into the worship set and became a well-loved song and an integral part of the worship at Elim Lifechurch Kingstanding.
Andy continued on his song-writing journey with many of his songs being used in his local fellowship and beyond. One of his songs, ‘Glorified’, in 2012 won the UKCMC song-writing competition which resulted in airplay on UCB Christian radio.
His passion is simply to help people connect with God through praise and worship. To see people healed, restored, renewed, and ultimately for those who have no idea of the reality of Jesus, to find him, to know him.
The adventure continues as 2015 will see Andy’s first EP studio worship album featuring 7 of his songs. For many years it has been a dream to record but February will see that dream become reality.
